In our second instalment of major global ports, we look at the Port of Shenzhen, which is a collective name of a number of ports along parts of the coastline of Shenzhen in Guangdong Province, China. These ports, as a whole, forms one of the busiest and fastest growing container ports in the world.
Shenzhen’s Chiwan basin is located on the Pearl River Delta, the biggest manufacturing centre in the world. It is the gateway of the Pan-Pearl River Delta and is just 20 nautical miles away from Hong Kong and Macao.
